Company: TAPIT Ventures Position: Lead Software Engineer Employment Type: Part-Time Hours: 10–15 hours per week Rate: ₦5,000 per hour

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Software Engineer Lead to provide technical leadership, improve development quality and efficiency, oversee deployments, monitor team performance, and ensure the development team consistently delivers on its commitments. The role requires flexibility to work mornings, evenings, and weekends , particularly when production deployments or critical development activities require attention.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Review developers' task estimates to assess the accuracy of plans and evaluate whether the proposed approach is the best and most efficient way to complete the work.
  2. Perform deployments to production environments during evenings and weekends when required.
  3. Find more effective ways to carry out development work, improving processes, efficiency, and overall productivity.
  4. Improve the quality of testing across development (DEV), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and live/production environments.
  5. Ensure clients are informed about changes and important updates in the shortest possible time and in the easiest-to-consume format.
  6. Lead the use of AI for critical development work, including Vibe Coding with Codex.
  7. Monitor staff performance using available reports and software tools.
  8. Ensure the team delivers what they commit to, maintaining accountability and following through on agreed tasks and deliverables.
  9. Work with and provide technical leadership across ASP.NET, .NET, Flutter, and AI/Codex technologies.

Working Requirements

  1. Part-time: 10–15 hours per week
  2. Must be available to work mornings, evenings, and weekends as required.
  3. Strong leadership and management skills.
  4. Strong understanding of software development, testing, deployments, and production environments.
  5. Ability to improve development processes and productivity.
  6. Experience with ASP.NET, .NET, Flutter, and AI/Codex.
  7. Ability to monitor team performance and ensure delivery against commitments.
  8. Strong communication skills, particularly when communicating technical changes to clients.

Interview Process

The successful candidate will be interviewed based on the nine key responsibility areas outlined above. The interview will assess their technical knowledge, leadership ability, development experience, understanding of AI-assisted development, deployment experience, quality assurance, productivity improvement, and ability to manage and deliver through a development team.
