Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and analytical Power BI Consultant / Developer to help transform business data into meaningful insights that support better decision-making. The ideal candidate will be able to develop interactive dashboards, improve reporting processes, analyse business performance, and recommend practical solutions to business challenges. We are looking for a thinker who can work independently, solve problems, and contribute ideas beyond simply completing assigned tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
  2. Connect, clean, transform, and model data from multiple sources using Power Query.
  3. Develop DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPIs.
  4. Analyse business data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  5. Translate business requirements into clear reporting solutions.
  6. Optimise report performance, data models, and refresh processes.
  7. Integrate Power BI with Excel, SQL databases, and other relevant data sources.
  8. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, security, and reliability.
  9. Present findings and recommend actionable business improvements.
  10. Document reporting processes and provide support where required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  1. Demonstrable experience with Microsoft Power BI.
  2. Strong knowledge of Power Query, DAX, data modelling, and dashboard development.
  3. Experience with data visualisation and business intelligence reporting.
  4. Good analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  5. Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  6. Familiarity with Excel and SQL.
  7. Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical findings clearly.
  8. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience in business performance analysis, management reporting, or operational analytics.
  2. Knowledge of Power BI Service, scheduled refreshes, workspaces, and row-level security.
  3. Experience integrating data from multiple business systems.
  4. Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric or other data platforms.
